Product Vision & Mission¶
Work in Progress
This document is a draft — the vision statement is pending team alignment. Do not reference for decision-making yet.
Product Vision¶
Palm becomes the treasury decision platform — the intelligence layer that tells treasury teams not just what their cash will be, but what they should do about it.
Product Mission¶
We help treasury teams at mid-to-large corporates move from reactive cash management to confident, data-driven decision-making — by combining AI-native forecasting with the institutional knowledge that makes those decisions trustworthy.
What We Believe¶
These core beliefs guide our product decisions. They are drawn from our Treasury AI thesis and validated through customer discovery.
-
The value is in capital decisions, not labour savings. Treasury teams influence decisions worth tens or hundreds of millions. Improving those decisions by even a small margin generates impact that dwarfs the cost of the function itself. AI in treasury is about better capital allocation, not headcount reduction.
-
Trust requires correctness, structural safety, and contextual alignment. Treasurers won't act on AI outputs unless three conditions are met: the answer is right (correctness), the action is permitted (structural safety — policies, approval flows, limits), and the recommendation fits this company's specific situation (contextual alignment — institutional knowledge).
-
Institutional knowledge is the moat. Every correction captured, every policy encoded, every company-specific pattern learned compounds over time. This accumulated context becomes progressively harder for a competitor to replicate. The system of intelligence, not the system of record, is where durable value accrues.
-
Workflow-led, not model-led. Start with the highest-value treasury workflows, run them against what we have, and let the failures define what to build next. The workflows themselves reveal what the AI needs to learn.
-
Visibility is table stakes; action is the product. Cash forecasting and visibility get us in the door. The shift from "here's what your cash will be" to "here's what you should do about it" is what makes Palm indispensable.
Long-Term Direction¶
Palm's current foundation — AI-native cash forecasting sitting on top of TMS/ERP — is the starting point. The long-term ambition is to become Treasury AI Infrastructure: the intelligence layer that powers how large corporates forecast, invest, hedge, and settle.
The co-founder's Vision Pillars document outlines three expansion vectors:
- FX Flow — Own the corporate FX workflow from exposure identification through settlement
- Investment Flow — Connect cash visibility to investment decisions and execution
- Cross-Border Payments — Enable real-time settlement via stablecoin rails
Each pillar follows an A → B → C progression: Intelligence Layer (analytics, no licensing) → Orchestration Layer (route orders through partners) → Execution Layer (own the transaction). Scenario A alone — pure SaaS — represents $2.6M–$8.5M incremental ARR with zero regulatory risk.
